Egid Quirin Asam: Dramatic Baroque Sculptures

Egid Quirin Asam (1692- 1750) was a German sculptor and plasterer from the Late Baroque period. His most famous work is the sculpture called “Assumption of the Virgin” in Pilgrimage Church in Rohr, Bavaria. He generally worked with his brother Cosmas Damian Asam who was an architect and a painter. So, their common works were attributed to the Asam Brothers.
