Artist Turns Dance Moves Into Beautiful Charcoal Drawings

The creativity of artists can spread to virtually all areas. There’s a female artist in New Orleans named Heather Hansen who actually creates drawings by just using a piece of charcoal and the motions of her body. Basically, she sits down on a giant drawing board and rubs charcoal on her limbs. Then she performs various physical gestures and dance-like movements on the drawing board.

Meanwhile, the charcoal rubs onto the board and draws visually appealing patterns and symmetrical shapes. She smears lines into each other and repeats movements in order to create an aesthetically pleasing piece of art. The amazing thing about this process is her performance. She usually attracts crowds that watch her as she conducts this unusual style of drawing. You can find Hansen’s work at the The Ochi Gallery located in Ketchum, Idaho.
