Elena Limkina is a Russian artist residing in Moscow that has taken a new approach to her artwork -releasing individual pieces on a weekly basis.
Once a week, the amazing talent releases a sketch that has so far wowed and impressed many. Her work is a throwback, using watercolors and dip pen techniques to produce wonderfully detailed and life-like illustrations of nature, architecture and more.
The detail of each piece is nothing short of spectacular, making the fact she uses various techniques all the more impressive. Influences range from various periods of fine art, from the baroque era to the Renaissance, and it’s no exaggeration to say her work wouldn’t look out of place next to some of the greats.
“I have been painting since childhood,” she explains. “I’ve been studying medical engineering, but my passion for fine arts has taken precedence.”
