Canadian artist Camille Allen has a rather unusual hobby and an impressive skill yo match it. She handcrafts miniature clay sculptures of newborn babies that can fit inside the palm of your hand.
It’s a skill the 35-year old artist learned from her grandmother-in-law, who was also making baby sculptures, except those, were life-size. But when Camille started, she didn’t have enough clay for that, so she made miniature versions: “When I held the first tiny baby sculpture in my hand I fell in love with it. I have been making the miniature babies ever since.”
“I love creating something that didn’t exist before,” said Camille to Daily Mail. “My favorite part is sculpting their little faces from basically a blank ball of clay.”
