Everyone thinks that they know how many kids a couple should have. Two is the generally accepted number, with a lot of families having three. There are famous sayings about this such as “Don’t let your children outnumber you!” If you have more than three kids, you’ll be subject to scorn – people will act as though you’re irresponsible. They’ll act as though you are freeloading – even if you are paying for all of your children without any assistance whatsoever. It can be tough being in a large family for this reason.
