Pyramids of Meroë

The Pyramids of Meroë are part of the larger group of Nubian pyramids, built at the time of the Kushite Kingdom over a period close to a millennium. This ancient capital of the Kushite Kingdom is home to over 200 pyramids – the most pyramids in a single place in the entire world. Near Meroë, three royal cemeteries were constructed: South Cemetery features nine royal pyramids. Four of the pyramids belonged to Kings and five belonged to queens.

Kenneth Dike Library was founded in 1948 as part of the University of Ibadan academic community. It has over two million academic materials such as books, theses, and journals. The library was previously known as the Main Library and started with about 3600 volumes of book that was transferred from the library at Yaba Higher College.

Great Mosque of Porto-Novo

The Great Mosque of Porto-Novo is a mosque in Porto-Novo, Ouémé Department, Benin. The Afro-Brazilian architectural-style mosque was constructed resembling a chapel with a long central hall and shallow vaulted roof. The front facade is decorated with floral, vegetable, and scrolled stucco molding.
