Revolving Bricks Serai is a project designed to provide some privacy for an office in the Iranian city of Arak. The office is at a location where offices and residential buildings are close to each other, creating privacy and confidentiality issues. There was also the issue of natural light which only came from the East and West which was not ideal for the office space. Therefore, it was necessary to find a way to allow natural light in a pleasant way while also maintaining privacy.

Revolving Bricks Serai maintains privacy through its rotating brick façade without hindering natural light.
So, Farhad Mirzaie and A.P.Pars Architects & Associates decided to use a parametric brick grid to solve these issues. In this way, the architects would blend traditional architecture with modern elements, as well. This brick grid uses an algorithm for the rotation of the bricks, creating a rippling effect. The use of turquoise and azure colors on the ends of the bricks further enhances the rotation effect.
