The Old Mill of Vernon

In the 16th century, the Vernon old flour mill was built on top of an existing bridge built by King Philippe in the 12th century that crossed the Seine in the northern region of France. Initially, the bridge had five mills that ground corn. Today, most of the bridge is gone, along with the other mills. Only the Vernon Mill still stands operational along the right bank of the Seine.
Chongqing Bridge in Linshi Town, China
Chongqing Bridge is a 400-m long bridge in Linshi town carrying both traditional Chinese houses and Western style buildings.
Pulteney Bridge in Bath, England
Pulteney Bridge is a bridge built in 1774 over the River Avon in Bath. Designed by Robert Adam, it was a rather unusual bridge as it was covered with shops designed in Palladian style. In fact, it is one of four bridges in the world to have shops across its full span (the others being in Florence, Venice, and Erfurt).
Bridge House in Ambleside, the UK
Being originally an apple store, this Bridge house was built over Stock Beck to escape land tax. According to some accounts, there was also a time when a family of six children lived there for a while in this 17th century house.
Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy
Although this kind of architecture was a common practice in the medieval age, Ponte Vecchio is one of the four surviving bridges with shops across it. This 14th- century bridge stands over the narrowest point of the Arno River, and there are still people living on it.
Houses on the Old Nahe Bridge in Bad Kreuznach, Germany
Old Nahe Bridge is another medieval Bridge dating from around 1300, and the house construction over the bridge started around 1480. They were originally a house for merchants and craftsmen. Today, they serve as shops and business premises.
