Last summer, a pit bull was found in Los Angeles in a horrible condition. She was only 26 pounds and covered with ticks and maggots. A rescue team operated by LA police officers called Ghetto Rescue Foundation take the dog thinking she wouldn’t be able to survive until the next day.
She stayed at the hospital for weeks and became better in each another minute. Since she was such a lively animal with a heart-shaped mark on her coat, the rescue team gave her a name: Spirit Golden Heart.
Spirit is now in a foster home, where she is loved, fed and saved. Her foster mom says that Spirit became a “chubby couch potato”.
Spirit loves children and spends time with his family and other people. Although she was not loved for a long time, she knows how to love people.
She is waiting to find her eventual and hopefully final, loving home.
