People may seem obsessed with taking selfies these days, and with Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and many other social media platforms the perfect place to display photos of your day to day life, taking photographs has never been so popular.
Yet even since the early days of photography people have had a fascination with the art, as evidenced by these vintage photos from the 1900s and 1910s. One really popular form of the photograph during this time period was sitting in front of a large smiling moon crescent on a backdrop of black stars.
It was a massive allure for many as they had the opportunity to be shown as sitting on a moon amongst the stars, resulting in the huge number of fantastic images that are very much of their time, and produce a certain vintage charm when looking back on them.
