Breathtaking Wire Sculptures Capture the Fluidity of the Human Body

These works are undeniable gravity presents which you will not find in many sculptures. The life-sized figures contained pictures of the human body at both resting position and whilst the body is moving. The creator, English artist Richard Stainthorp, has designed these works of art in order to capture the energy and essence of the human body in motion. He has decided also to avoid using obvious paint and other additions to the wire in order to keep the wire shiny.

This is been his life’s work for the last twenty years. Lacking facial features, the sculpture uses the body to tell the tale and express the emotions, which allows us to reflect on how our bodies express ourselves in regular life. Some of these sculptures look as though they are falling and some look as though they are expressing freedom. One of the sculptures has wings that also double as looking like a shield. Is a testament to his ability that the whole set of sculptures created solely using wire. Richard Stainthorp website and Facebook page
