Unique Family in The Siberian Taiga

Once they escaped the Bolshevik regime the family’s journey took 250 kilometers beyond any habitation. At the beginning they had simple utilities with them; spinning wheel for textile, pans and kettles for cooking. After these got unusable, the family started eating raw vegetation.

Their son Dmitry started hunting when he grew up and sustained his family with meat. He was good at trailing and ambushing the animals, his competence in hunting was very beneficial for his family’s diet.

After their encounter, geologists helped the family with some basic needs like salt or grain and an electric torch but that was all the family accepted to received. In 1981, four members of the family, three of the kids counting Dmitry and the mother, died due to health issues. The difficult life they lived was the reason behind this.

The father and one of his daughters continued to live in the same place together until Karp Lykov died in 1988. His daughter continued to live the unique life in the Taiga which her family created.
