19-Year-Old Black Cat Turns Into A Marble Beauty, Most Likely Due To A Rare Skin Condition

The last thing you’re expecting to see when you bring a lovable lack cat home, is for him to start getting white spots everywhere, correct? Well, that is exactly what happened with Scrappy, a lovable, tough outdoor cat that is 19 years old. Now a senior and enjoying his days with the wisdom that 19 years of life will bring, his dad David started noticing strange white spots in his fur that had him hurrying to the vet. This happened shortly after he turned 7 years old, so he was still in his young days at the time.

Scrappy was diagnosed with a very rare condition called vitiligo. This, while sounding alarming to most of us, is something that is actually harmless for sweet Scrappy. It just means that his fur starts to marble and he is left with a unique and adorable batch of white and black hair twisted together in a way that makes us all smile and “awww” a little bit.

While he may look very different compared to his days a youngster, you have to admit that there is a lot to love about how he looks now. Other than changing his fur color to this sweet combination, vitiligo doesn’t change anything about Scrappy’s life, so David is a happy dad that his sweet fur child is safe and healthy in all other ways.
