Depending on where you live as well as your personal opinion on the topic, deforestation is something that impacts all of us and makes us feel as though we need to do something about it. That being said, none of us can ignore the fact that wood is necessary for a lot of the things that we have in our lives, so how are supposed to save the trees and still have everything that we need for a life of comfort? There’s no question that balancing between these two things is hard, but there is definitely a way to do it, as Norway has taught us.

The topic of deforestation is a big one in Norway, and just recently, a law was passed that deforestation is no longer allowed to happen under no circumstance, and the people who are living there are totally happy about this. There will still need to be wood that is cut down, but anyone who is need of this will have to put together a plan explaining entirely how this is to happen, and even then, there is a chance that the request may not be granted, as Norway has extremely strict rules which every person and corporation must follow in able to cut down any trees.

While the rest of the world still has a while to go in terms of creating a system that strict, we can definitely learn from the example that Norway is setting. It’s certainly in a place to envy right now, and we need to find a way to that same place.
