Revealing Photos of New York City from the 70s and 80s

Full of violence, hatred, judgment, and a different world feel to it, these revealing photos from the dark and dirty parts of New York City show us a world where all sorts of negative emotions ran wild.  We can see just how prominent the racial prejudices were as well as the fact that there was so much violence in the streets.

All of this still exists today, of course, but it’s not often that we see it so close to the lens of the camera.  It just makes you wonder how the world is going to be in 20 years.  Will it is as plastic and fake as we thought it was today, or will ti be more attuned to how the world actually is, warts and all?  Time will tell, and maybe photos will be able to show us more about our society. via (reddit)
