The slightest difference to a body of text can make all of the difference when it comes to what the words actually say. In the case of these images, the results are rather funny, with plenty of rather rude terminology being bandied around due to the lack of proper spacing. While it could be human error, some of these could be the result of kerning. This is a term in typography when the spaces between letters are automatically adjusted to make them appear more visually appealing. So any text written on a computer could be subject to this. For the metal signs, it’s likely that there wasn’t adequate spacing, which left to a rather unfortunate placing of the letters leading to some funny yet unintended mishaps. Others are just down to unfortunate hand writing –yet we can help but laugh at the sight of some of these!
