Cat Walked 12 Miles to Return to His Family … So They Asked to Have Him Euthanized

This is Toby, a cat who walked for 12 miles to return to his family. They returned his display of love by taking him to the shelter to put him down.

According to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Wake County, North Carolina, Toby’s original owners gave him away to another family. But it seemed the cat still yearned for them.

But after making the long trek back home, the poor kitty was rejected once again.

He was taken to the shelter to be euthanized. Thankfully, the shelter contacted SPCA, who took Toby without a second thought.

On April 13, Toby found a new furever home.

“He has three new siblings (one feline and two human) and a cat-savvy mom to show him what a loving family is really like,” the SPCA of Wake County posted on Facebook.
