05AM Arquitectura is an architectural design team located in Catalonia. They are known for their innovating designs when it comes to giving old houses a much newer and more modern look. In other words, they take classic architecture and redesign it with more contemporary aesthetics.
One particular home they redesigned was built in the 19th century. It can be found in La Varenne Saint Hilaire, Saint Maur des Fosses, which is just outside of Paris, France. This classic home appears to be from the 19th century when you look at it from the outside. But when you go inside the home, everything resembles a more contemporary environment. What 05 AM Arquitectura is trying to accomplish is to keep the original design of these old homes while just updating the interior.
In this most recent home they remodeled, the walls of the dining room, living room, and kitchen were all removed in order to create more open spaces on the ground floor. In the bedrooms on this floor, they added marble material to the master bedroom and brighter colors in the other bedrooms where children would normally stay in. The home is truly a perfect example of “old meets new.”
